Road Bike Helmets

Giro’s road bike helmets are designed to minimise drag while maximising airflow, keeping riders cool and comfortable on long rides. Helmets like the Giro Aether feature Wind Tunnel Ventilation, a proprietary system that combines active vents with exhaust channels to cool cyclists’ heads as they speed down the road. The Aries uses the patent-pending DryCore™ sweat management system, a lightweight brow pad with integrated silicone bead to redirect sweat away from riders’ eyes. The Progressive Layering with EPP and EPS foam in MTB helmets provides superior energy management, addressing both high and low-speed impacts. The Coalition’s Halo System Chinbar integrates Pebax® materials to provide a balance of flex and rigidity, enhancing protection from frontal impacts.

Youth Bike Helmets

Protecting young riders is a priority, and Giro’s youth helmets are designed with them in mind. The Roc Loc® Jr. Fit System ensures a secure and comfortable fit, tailored to the curvature of a child’s head. A large, rubberized knob allows for easy adjustments, making it simple to find the perfect fit. Some youth models offer MIPS® for rotational energy management, integrated LED lights for added visibility, and fun colourful patterns that kids love.

Aerodynamic Helmets

Giro also designs for triathletes and time-trialists, knowing that for them, every second counts. Helmets in this category are engineered for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. Tested with CFD and in the wind tunnel, streamlined designs reduce air resistance, helping shave valuable seconds off these athletes’ time. The Aerohead includes extensive venting optimised for long triathlons and hot events and the Aerohead II pushes the limits of UCI regulations for maximum advantage in time trials. Integrated visors feature Optics from Zeiss ®.

Giro’s cycling helmets with integrated LED lights improves visibility, as well as ensuring you're seen by others on the road. • MIPS® (Multi-directional Impact Protection System): This technology, originally created by a biomechanics scientist and a brain surgeon, uses a slip-plane system to reduce rotational forces on the brain during angled impacts. MIPS minimises strain on possible impacts to the brain tissue and potentially reduces the risk of brain injury.
• Spherical Technology: An advanced system powered by MIPS, features a dual-layer, ball and socket design that allows the outer shell to rotate independently of the inner shell. This system not only improves safety but also maintains optimal ventilation and comfort.
• DryCore™ Sweat Management System: A lightweight browpad with integrated silicone bead to redirect sweat away from riders’ eyes.
• Halo System Chinbar: A patent-pending system combining Pebax® (a material that is engineered to provide the perfect range of flex and rigidity) and elastomeric bushings that are integrated into the EPS to absorb and dissipate kinetic forces.
• IONIC+ Padding: Utising pure silver, this padding offers natural, permanent odour protection, keeping your helmet fresh even after long rides.
• ROC LOC® Air Fit System: Since 2011, at Giro we have used this system on our best products. It allows the cycling helmet to suspend just off the head, which in turn allows cool air to flow over the scalp. This improves the helmet's ventilation, keeping your head cooler for longer.
