Giro at Tour de France

The Tour is Happening!

Team Visma | Lease a Bike arrives in France with three stage wins and a GC title from the Giro d’Italia, plus two-time Tour champion Jonas Vingegaard leading the charge. His rivalry with Tadej Pogačar lit up the Dauphiné, where both riders proved a level above. But Visma’s not a one-man show—Matteo Jorgenson, fresh off a second straight Paris-Nice win and a top-6 Dauphiné finish, is a rising GC threat. With elite talent, tactical brilliance, and the technical obsession of Giro design, Visma is built to contend.

The Race

Sprint and Breakaway Stages

The 2025 Tour opens with flat and rolling stages—prime ground for bunch sprints or tactical breakaways. While Visma eyes the overall GC, they’ll count on the Eclipse Spherical for aero efficiency and long-haul comfort across 4–6 hour days. And if Wout van Aert gets a green light, stage win #8 could be in reach.

Time Trial Stages

Nearly 50km of time trials could shape the 2025 Tour. For Stage 5’s flat TT, Visma lines up in the cutting-edge Aerohead II, developed in part with the team to deliver unmatched aero gains. With Jonas, Matteo, and Wout all TT threats, Visma comes equipped for victory with Giro’s industry leading helmet aerodynamics. For the rare uphill TT to Peyragudes, conditions will call the shots on final helmet choice, but Aerohead II will undoubtedly provide an aero advantage for this year’s TT stages.

Mountain Stages

Nothing rivals the chaos of Tour mountain stages—scorching temps, roaring fans, and brutal gradients. Visma’s climbing trio of Jonas, Matteo, and Giro champ Simon Yates will count on the ultralight, highly ventilated Aries Spherical to stay cool when the pace slows and the road tilts skyward. From Hautacam to legendary Mont Ventoux, Aries shines on the extraordinary climbs and the descents that follow.

What is the Tour de France?

The Tour de France is one of the three “Grand Tours” of cycling, with the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana as the other two. It is the oldest and most prestigious, and this will be the 112th edition.

How long is the race?

The race is 3 weeks long, with 21 stages punctuated by two rest days. Racers will cover 3320km (2060 miles) with 51,500m (169,127 feet) of climbing.

What stages can Visma | Lease a Bike riders win?

Visma is laser-focused on the overall general classification win with two-time Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard. He is their rider most likely to win a stage, undoubtedly in the high mountains, but Matteo Jorgenson could finally take his first Tour stage win after several close calls, and Giro d’Italia champion Simon Yates could add to the two stages he won in 2019. Or Wout Van Aert could secure his 8th stage win, either in the flat time trial or perhaps a day for the breakaway.
