Style over speed. Designed to meet the needs of today's progressive trail riders, the Tyrant™ Mips® helmet has attitude and innovations that usher in the modern era of progressive mountain biking.
While the style is understated, the Tyrant boasts countless under-the-hood tech breakthroughs including Wind Tunnel Ventilation and Mips Spherical technology. Mips Spherical utilizes a pair of foam layers that work like a ball and socket to redirect impact energy in a crash. One layer is EPS, which is well suited to high-speed crashes. The other is a lower density EPP foam with rebound characteristics to address low-speed, roll-around-in-the-dirt-type spills. The added coverage of this "full cut" design further enhances protective capability, while taking helmet design in a new direction for riders seeking style over speed.
  • CHEEK PAD VENTILATION — Allows cool; fresh air to circulate inside the helmet to help cool you; and to address sweat management.
  • HARDSHELL WITH IN-MOLD HARDBODY™ LOWER WRAP — The two-piece shell combines a tough outer hard shell with a polycarbonate lower shell permanently fused to the liner for durability without excess weight.
  • SPHERICAL TECHNOLOGY — Spherical Technology's Ball-and-Socket design; powered by Mips®; helps redirect impact forces away from the brain by allowing the outer liner to rotate around the inner liner during a crash. It also eliminates contact with hard plastic or slip-planes against the skin.
  • PROGRESSIVE LAYERING&TRADE — Two different materials are used to manage impact energy: One layer is EPS which is well-suited to high-speed crashes. The other is a lower-density EPP foam with rebound characteristics that address the more common; low-speed impacts.
  • ROC LOC® AIR DH FIT SYSTEM — This revolutionary fit system adds a new dimension to helmet performance by enhancing cooling; as well as fit comfort and stability. Using a patented design that suspends the helmet just slightly off the top of the skull; Roc Loc® Air DH allows cool airflow to pass directly over your head; further enhancing the performance of vents and internal channeling that exhaust heat out of the helmet. Fit and feel adjustments mimic the Roc Loc 5; allowing you to easily custom tune fit tension and fore-aft tilt of the helmet in seconds using a single hand.
  • TOOL-FREE; BOLT-ON VISOR — Easily adjustable without need for tools or extra fiddling; and offers plenty of vertical adjustment to stage goggles when you're not wearing them.
  • STACK VENTILATION — Vents at the brow line help warm air to be drawn up and away from your goggles to eliminate fogging; while allowing seamless integration with goggles.
Complies with the US CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmet for Persons Age 5 and Older;600g (size Medium CPSC; CE)

Bike Helmet Size Guide

How to measure your size – Wrap a measuring tape around your head, keeping the tape level from front to back. Note the measurement and reference the Size Guide. Note: Make sure the helmet fits with a little room when the fit system is loose, and sits low enough to protect your forehead without hindering your vision. Once you’ve got the right size, you can adjust the fit.

FOR HELMETS EQUIPPED WITH MIPS TECHNOLOGY, PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING WARNING: SOME MIPS® LOW-FRICTION LAYERS, ALONG WITH OTHER PARTS OF A HELMET, MIGHT CAUSE LACERATIONS TO THE WEARER’S HEAD/FACE IN SOME ACCIDENTS. THIS MIGHT OCCUR DUE TO THE HIGH PRESSURE ON THE SCALP FROM THE IMPACT OR AS A BY-PRODUCT OF THE LOW-FRICTION LAYER’S MOVEMENT IN CERTAIN ANGLED IMPACTS TO HELP REDUCE THE ROTATIONAL ENERGIES TO THE HEAD.
