VIVID Shield for Orbit Mips/Aria Mips

I got back into skiing after twenty years of health problems. Back then, I could ski any run at any speed. In those days, helmets were the exception. As fast as equipment allows the average boarder/skier ride, I would never consider going without a helmet. Even if that wasn’t the case, I would ski with this helmet for comfort alone. It’s more comfortable that wearing a beanie and goggles. Speaking of goggles, mine always fogged, no matter how much I paid for them. Or if I wore my glasses under them, my glasses fogged. Or both. With this helmet, I have only fogged twice. Both were while waiting in the lift line after a long and strenuous run where I was sweating. Otherwise, it has been a true game-changer. I have gone out in high wind conditions, snowing heavily and never had an issue. I have the grey helmet and the Onyx lenses. I thought it might not work on bright sunny days, but it is perfect. I have been on the hill for over 60 days over the past fourteen months. Only twice was the light so flat that I thought a fully transparent lens might have helped. On those days, I am better off not skiing. I have top of the line skis, bindings, and softwoods, but the game-changer of getting me on the hill and being safe in most conditions is from having bought this helmet/goggle combination.

The Onyx colored visor is pictured as a grey visor on line (logical), but it actually is an orange color and fairly translucent-like something that you’d want on a cloudy day. Looks nothing like the picture on line and does not look like it would be good for sunny days. I returned it.
