The Giro x Lucas Beaufort Collection

French artist and illustrator Lucas Beaufort in a sense painted his way into the modern-day skateboarding scene and culture though illustrating his playful creatures into current and famous skateboard photographs and magazine covers. “My art is about spreading love to people. It’s all about love and how to share something,” says Beaufort.

It wasn’t long until people took notice of his unique artistic style and the light-hearted scenes created in the photographs. Lucas is now featured worldwide within the cultures of skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, fashion and fine art.

The Giro x Lucas Beaufort collection shares a cast of whimsical creatures on the Emerge MIPS helmet and Axis goggles. These fun mountain monsters, known as the “Gus Gus family” also glow in the dark—so look for them on dawn patrol, on dark and stormy days and on cold smoke gondola rides.
If you’re wondering where the idea for his illustrations came from, Beaufort says they came straight from his dreams. “My creatures lived in my brain for so many years. One day I decided to paint and all of them were so happy to live the real life.” You can learn more at his illustrations at LucasBeaufort.com.
