New additions for women’s, winter, and kids’ gloves build on remarkable first year reception

(22 July 2011– Scotts Valley, CA) – Giro, the cycling world’s design leader since 1985, is refining and expanding their line of cycling gloves for 2012, with updates to key road and off-road gloves as well as the addition of new winter, women and youth models. Launched in 2009 to widespread acclaim, Giro gloves benefit from the same meticulous combination of research and design and real-world testing that is the hallmark of Giro helmets.

“We are not content to rest on the success of our glove line”, said Eric Richter, Giro Brand Manager. “With the 2012 collection, we’ve focused on enhancing the performance of key gloves across the line to improve performance and durability, and adding a few new models to address demands from the market. Our mantra has been to keep evolving gloves based on feedback and a desire to innovate at every price, and I believe this line will earn high marks from riders and retailers for doing exactly that.”

Two key technologies define Giro gloves: Super Fit™ Engineering, a proprietary process that guides the fit, design and patterning of every Giro glove for maximum comfort and performance; and 3-Piece Palm Construction, which tailors the fit of Giro gloves to reduce bunching while enhancing control and handlebar feel. For 2012, Giro brings these advantages to three new gloves, while updating colorways across the entire range, and enhancing the design and features of several key models.
