World’s largest cycling magazine praises shoe for its fit, comfort, and stiffness

(29 July 2011– Scotts Valley, CA) – The Giro Factor™ has been chosen by Bicycling Magazine, the world’s largest cycling magazine, as a coveted Editors’ Choice. Going up against competitors in the $250-300 range, the Factor™ won praise from testers for its snug yet comfortable fit, well-designed buckle and strap system that eliminates hot spots, and excellent ventilation. The editors also singled out the impressive heel-retention and Giro’s included SuperNatural Fit Kit with it’s customizable arch support. In the end, the Factor™, the lightest shoe in the test at a mere 255g and the only one featuring an ultra-thin yet stiff Easton EC90 carbon sole, claimed top honors.

The Giro Factor™ retails for $289, comes in three colorways, and is available in a full range of sizes from 39 – 48. Like all of Giro’s footwear line, the Factor™ represents the culmination of years of research and design with custom last makers, respected biomechanists like Todd Carver of Retul™, and top-level pro cyclists like Levi Leipheimer. For 2012, Giro will bring their innovative footwear technologies to a broader market, introducing an expanded women’s range of shoes as well as feature-packed models at entry and enthusiast prices levels.
